A strong and functional respiratory system is the key to health and vigor. ‘Vasa’ or ‘Adathoda vasica’, the chief ingredient of Vasarishtam acts in synergy with prime Kapha-hara drugs like Trikatu and Honey to cleanse the respiratory tract and boost its functions.

Vasarishtam is a honey-based expectorant that is beneficial in all respiratory complaints like congestion, cold and cough.

Vasarishtam is an alcohol-based combination of Vasa (Adathoda vasica), Ela (Elettaria cardamomum), Twak (Cinnamomum verum), Nagakesar (Mesuua ferra), Jathiphala (Myristica fragrans) etc. with Honey.
It balances Kapha dosha in the region of the chest. Scrapes away vitiated phlegm from the respiratory tract.
Vascicine, the chief chemical constituent of Vasa, has established expectorant activity. It breaks down mucus in the respiratory tract and flushes it out. Clears congestion and spasm in the chest region.
It relaxes the bronchial muscles. Relieves wheezing and cough.

Dosage & Directions for Use

Child: 10-15 ml Vasarishtam twice daily after food, or as directed by the Physician.

Adult: 25-30 ml Vasarishtam twice daily after food, or as directed by the Physician.

Key Ingredients of Vasarishtam-

VASAKA (Adathoda vasika)

Vasaka is used for treating cold, cough, chronic bronchitis and asthma. In acute stages of bronchitis, Vasaka gives unfailing relief, especially where the sputum is thick and sticky. It liquefies the sputum so that it is brought up more easily. For relief in asthma, the dried leaves should be smoked. The juice from its leaves should be given in doses of 2 to 4 grams in treating diarrhea and dysentery .

TWAK (Cinnamom verum)

It is used for Neurological disorders, Cardiovascular diseases, Oxidative stress, Inflammatory disorders, Diabetes, Microbial infections, Cancer and other conditions extensively in Ayurveda.

NAGAKESARA (Messua ferrea)

Ironwood Tree possesses many therapeutic benefits. It is a hemostatic that stops bleeding and is also an anti-inflammatory. The Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia of India recommends the use of the plant in gout, hemorrhagic disorders and diseases of the urinary bladder.

JATHIPHALA (Myristica fragrance)

According to Ayurveda, it balances the Vatha and Kapha dosha. It is a good digestive and has properties of removing phlegm. It is also good for the skin.

NAGARA (Zingiber officinalae)

The compounds 6-gingerol and 6-shogaol have a number of pharmacological properties, including antipyretic, analgesic, antitussive and hypotensive properties.

MARICHA (Piper nigrum)

Commonly known as black pepper, Maricha is a common ingredient in the kitchen. Its properties include Antidepressant, Antifungal, Anti diarrhoeal, Anti inflammatory, Anti mutagenic, Anti-metastatic activity. Crushed pepper with honey relieves cold and steam inhalation along with eucalyptus reduces chest congestion.

PIPPALI (Piper longum)

Pippali is known as “tridoshic” herb as it suits all body types. Thus regular consumption of pippali in suggested quantity can help you to immune your body to quite an extent. Pippali has Anti-microbial, Anti-inflammatory activity. Consumption of pippali is said to exhibit anti spasmodic action and hypoglycaemic effect which is believed to lower blood sugar level. It is also reported to be antagonist in respiratory depression.
